Contract information

• Apartment eligibility

  The resident must currently be:

  • An enrolled full-time (minimum 8 credits) graduate student at ÐßÐßÂþ»­ at the time of receiving keys, or
  • An enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credits) undergraduate student with sophomore, junior, or senior class status at ÐßÐßÂþ»­ at the time of receiving keys, or 
  • An enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credits) undergraduate student who is 25 years of age or older at the beginning of the contract period at ÐßÐßÂþ»­ at the time of receiving keys
• Residence hall eligibility

  To be eligible for residential hall housing, the resident must be a currently enrolled full-time student at ÐßÐßÂþ»­. Students may not sign up for housing for any period of time less than the entire academic year or the portion of the academic year remaining at the time of initial occupancy.

  For example, the student may not register for housing for fall semester and then move out without paying a financial penalty for breaking the housing contract.

  Apartments
  The annual contract for apartment residents is nine months (specific dates forthcoming).

  Residence halls
  The annual contract for undergraduate students in the residence halls has two time periods (forthcoming). 

  All travel and vacation arrangements need to be made with their relevant dates in mind. Students who wish to move into the residence halls early or remain late on the closing date must submit early arrival or late stay forms and pay the associated fees. 

• Terms of cancellation
  • This contract may be terminated if written notice of cancellation is received by the Residential Life Office.
  • This contract may not be canceled without financial penalty after move-in/keys are physically received by a student except for:
    • Withdrawal from ÐßÐßÂþ»­ (notification from Registrar required)
    • Study abroad/study out of state (documentation required)
    • Graduation from ÐßÐßÂþ»­ (must be on Registrar’s list)
    • Entering into a marriage (verification required) and moving off-campus
    • Student teaching (verification required)
  • To request a cancellation of this contract after the beginning of the contract period, the Resident must submit a contract release request form. A link to this form is listed below.
  • Once a student accepts their keys, they are responsible for the entire academic year contract. Once a student accepts their keys, they are responsible for the entire contract period. Any resident who moves out early without an approved contract release will be charged the entire room and meal fees for the remainder of the contract.
  • Residents canceling the contract after the beginning of the contract period and before the end of the contract period will be charged rent for the full academic year. Students removed for conduct reasons will be held financially responsible for the entire contract length.
  • Once the notice of intent to vacate has been received by the Office of Residential Life, the resident must vacate the unit on or before the specified date unless an exception is granted by the area coordinator.

  Students who need to register their Emotional Support Animal will need to meet with the director of Disability Resources to start the process.
